RBAC welcomed users, partners, and industry leaders to Houston for the 2025 Gas & User Conference—three days of market intelligence, hands-on model exploration, technical deep dives, and collaborative discussions about the future of natural gas, LNG, and global energy markets.
This year’s theme centered on market fundamentals, scenario-driven analytics, and the expanding role of gas in a fast-changing energy landscape. Attendees gained firsthand insights from RBAC’s modeling experts and guest speakers across the natural gas value chain.
Our own industry veterans were joined by guest speakers Denny Yeung (Williams), Geoff Sloan (Poten & Partners), Anuj Patel (Siemens), Hua Fang (Black & Veatch), and Sergio Castellanos (University of Texas). All gave insightful presentations, enabling attendees to dive deep into currently trending topics, like AI-fueled power demand, as well as LNG export impact on both global and regional markets, gaining valuable market insights as well as honing skills on RBAC’s natural gas market simulation tools, GPCM and G2M2.
GPCM and G2M2 25Q3 Forecast
To begin the conference we started with highlights from our recent 25Q3 base case update to our GPCM® Market Simulator for North American Gas and LNG™ and G2M2® Market Simulator for Global Gas and LNG™.
They included information on:
- Henry Hub Price & Basis
- Supply & Demand Dynamics for North America
- Europe’s Winter Outlook (including Storage)
- The Global LNG Supply Wave
The United States is set to remain the top dog in terms of global gas production next year at 112 bcfd, which is almost double Russia in second place.
GDS Pro
We also introduced some new features to GPCM, GDS pro is a new mapping system for GPCM that greatly increases the detail that users can few pipelines as well as their interconnects and connections to storage.
LNG Supply Glut – What Would Move the Needle
Ed O’ Toole and Scott McKenna utilized G2M2 to run scenario where natural gas demand grew in India and China and LNG projects currently without FID (primarily in Africa) were delayed and some pipeline projects in both countries (TAPI pipeline and Power of Siberia 2) were also delayed.
Canada Exports Under Wildfire Scenario
Robert Kachmar looked at how wildfires in Canada (like in 2023) could impact its natural gas market with GPCM to see how prices and LNG exports would be affected.
And attendees gave rave feedback:
Conclusion
But in the end, the conference was about much more than the sessions themselves—it was a great opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces, dig into the complexities of the natural gas and LNG markets, and sharpen market analysis skills. With Houston as our backdrop, the energy capital of the world, the event proved to be an exciting evolution from last year’s conference in Orlando.
Whether you joined us to gain fresh market insights, explore RBAC’s market simulation tools, or spend time with RBAC’s expert team, there was something valuable for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you again at our next user conference!
