RBAC Inc., Energy Market Simulation Systems

RBAC 2025 Mid-Year Seminar Recap

On June 11th in Houston, energy industry professionals, executives and decision-makers gathered for RBAC’s Mid-Year Seminar: “RBAC’s Natural Gas Outlook: Exploring North American and Global Gas Markets with RBAC Inc.”

Attendees across the spectrum of energy came to increase their knowledge of the short, medium, and long-term outlooks as well as various scenarios that could potentially occur and how the market would be affected using the GPCM® Market Simulator for North American Gas and LNG™ and G2M2® Market Simulator for Global Gas and LNG™.

Attendees further learned about navigating the volatile and complex future of natural gas, LNG, and hydrogen markets with these tools from experts in both regional and global markets as well as new energy such as hydrogen.

North American Natural Gas Outlook

RBAC’s Senior Director of Market Analysis, Bethel King, was first to take the stage presenting highlights from the recently released 25Q1 update to GPCM’s base case covering:

  • Henry Hub Price & Basis
  • Supply & Demand
  • LNG Exports
  • Storage
  • Infrastructure

“We’re seeing more and more activity around Gillis, it’s become a real hub. We’re going to be digging into that more as time goes forward.”

Global Natural Gas and LNG Outlook

Next to present was our Founder and CEO, Dr. Robert Brooks, who covered the key drivers and forecasts for the global gas market:

  • G2M2’s Modeling Principles
  • Global Production
  • LNG Imports and Exports
  • Global Prices

“China is more than 50% self-sufficient in natural gas. It’s actually about 60% of the supply of their demand is met by local sources, which I found fascinating when I first heard about it.”

Panel Discussion

To cap off the seminar, several members of RBAC’s analysis team (Left to Right: David Brooks, Scott McKenna, Robert Kachmar, Bethel King, Dr. Robert Brooks) reviewed the recent U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest Annual Energy Outlook as well as answered questions from the attendees.

Question regarding competitiveness of U.S. LNG projects compared to other projects around the globe: “I would say because of because of distance, you know, there’s a disadvantage in the North America’s farther away from markets compared to like Qatar and, and some of these other projects. But we have very low cost gas, maybe the second lowest or third lowest in the world.”

Overall, the seminar was a great success and it was great meeting everyone who attended and hearing different outlooks and perspectives on the market.

Stay tuned for more in-person and online seminars as we can continue to dive into market trends and dynamics and showcase all of the possibilities that may lie ahead under various scenarios utilizing our market simulation tools.

It is with tools such as these that both companies and countries can ensure that they are aware of all potential reverberations in the market that could arise from any decisions made related to energy.
