RBAC’s CEO and Founder, Dr. Robert Brooks, recently attended an event in Houston held by Energy Capital & Power in collaboration with Angola’s National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency. It was a meeting of minds of various companies and investors looking to get involved in Angola’s natural gas industry as well as other parts of Africa.
Dr. Brooks had a tremendous time discussing different aspects of the global natural gas and LNG market and noted, “I believe there is a great deal of potential for improving the lives of the people of Angola by properly developing its natural gas and oil resources and utilizing the resulting income in an effective way.” Angola’s proven gas resources are estimated at 11 trillion cubic feet of gas.
Angola is making waves in the global oil & gas market this year as it announced its departure from OPEC which went into effect on the first of January. Angola also has been an exporter of LNG for almost a decade now, beginning in 2016 with the first and currently only LNG export facility in the country, Soyo Angola LNG. This facility has an annual capacity of 5.2 mtpa and averaged 210 mcf of natural gas production daily in 2022.
